Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband, Derick Dillard, have announced that Jill recently suffered from a miscarriage on their family blog and Instagrams.
In an Instagram post, Jill and Derick shared the news, saying:
Jill and Derick Dillard Said ‘It is With Heavy Hearts That We Announce the Stillbirth of Our Beautiful Baby Girl …’
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard. Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero. From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby. Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world. We appreciate your prayers as we continue to grieve and heal from the loss of our little Isla Marie.”
Jill and Derick are already parents to three children: Israel, 9, Samuel, 6, and Frederick (Freddy), 1.
Jill’s Second Miscarriage: Isla Marie was Her First Pregnancy With a Girl
This was Jill’s second miscarriage, and first pregnancy with a girl.

Her first miscarriage occurred in October of 2021, before giving birth to her third son, Freddy.
At that time, she shared on her family blog that her two older sons, Israel and Samuel, were so excited to learn that their mom was expecting a baby and everything it would entail.
But just a few days after learning they were expecting, tragedy occurred when Jill began miscarrying.
Because they didn’t know the baby’s gender at that time, they named the baby River Bliss.
After giving birth to her third son less than a year later, she shared on Instagram how she was grieving what could’ve been with River while appreciating the little moments with Freddy.
However, with this miscarriage, she was further along, and knew she was expecting a girl.
In a controversial move, Jill and Derick shared photos that they took with their stillborn daughter.
Although the baby cannot be seen in the pictures, a pink crochet hat, teddy bear, and blanket are visible, along with another blanket that shared her name: Isla Marie Dillard.
While she was further along in this pregnancy than her last miscarriage, she had not yet shared publicly on social media that she was pregnant with her fourth child.

However, she did seem to post a hint on April 2nd, when she shared a photo of a bird’s nest with five robin’s eggs. In retrospect, it seems as though she may have been referencing her five pregnancies.
As for her famous family, only one of her siblings seems to have publicly commented on the loss.
Jinger commented on Jill’s post, writing:
Love you so much, sis. Continuing to uphold you all in prayer. Sweet little Isla will be missed.
Jill’s cousin Amy and her mother-in-law, Deena, also sent their condolences, but it doesn’t appear that her parents or siblings have said anything publicly yet.
