Fans are wondering if Morgan Wallen’s recent arrest had anything to do with his ex’s marriage announcement.
His ex, KT Smith, spoke with The Daily Beast to dispel rumors. She said that although it may seem like the two events are related because they happened so close to each other, she doesn’t think her marriage announcement led Morgan to throw a chair off of a balcony.
She added that she certainly hopes that’s the case, although she doesn’t know for sure since she hasn’t spoken to Morgan about it.
KT Said She Was Praying for Morgan
KT finished her statement by saying she was praying for Morgan and was hopeful that the outburst was just a mistake and that he’d get back on a good path soon.
Rumors started to swirl when the news broke that Morgan had been arrested for disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment on April 7th in Nashville.
Some sources told The Daily Mail that Morgan learned about the news of the marriage and threw the chair off the balcony as a result.
Those sources were uncredited, however, and KT was quick to put them to an end.
The reason for Morgan’s outburst is still unknown.
KT and Morgan Had a Tumultuous Relationship
KT and Morgan were together for three years and were even engaged at one point in their relationship. They later decided to call off the engagement, however, and resumed dating each other. Toward the end of their relationship, KT became pregnant, but it wasn’t enough to save the relationship.
KT described the last year of their relationship as toxic. By the time she gave birth to their baby, Indigo, they had broken up. KT found love again, however, with Luke Scornavacco.
The couple dated for a few years before Luke proposed to KT at Magnolia Farm in Tennessee. They shared several pictures on Instagram, which covered the big day.
In the photos, Luke was down on one knee and presenting a ring to KT. The photos also had KT’s baby with Morgan there. He was all smiles as the newly engaged couple posed with him.
While KT moving on with a new relationship didn’t surprise fans, the speed with which she got married did. Only six days after she was engaged, she and Luke got married.
Morgan’s Arrest Followed KT’s Wedding News
She announced the news on Instagram with a picture that showed her and Like holding up their marriage license together. A few days later, Morgan threw a chair off of a balcony at a bar in Nashville.
Two police officers were at the bar when the crime occurred. They witnessed a chair fall on the street only three feet from them.
When they asked people in the bar what had happened, they were told that Morgan had picked up a chair and thrown it off the balcony for no reason.
Some even alleged that he laughed afterward. Because Morgan could have seriously hurt someone, the police arrested him. He was in jail until three in the morning on Monday, after he posted bail.
Morgan is scheduled to arrive in court on May 3rd.
As for KT, she’s enjoying her new married life.
