Todd Chrisley’s Son Turned Him In for Tax Fraud

Hey y’all- Max, the Celeb Talk Guy here.

It goes without saying that Todd Chrisley’s tax fraud issues may be one of the most complicated stories in reality TV history.

It’s so complicated, and there’s so much to unpack.

For years, we knew that the charges had driven a divide between Todd and his two older children, Kyle and Lindsie.

Recently, The Sun uncovered that it was Todd’s son Kyle who secretly turned his father into police years ago and helped the police build the case against his parents.

Since then, Todd has forgiven his son, but is still on estranged terms with his daughter, Lindsie.

Todd and Julie pleaded not guilty, and have recently been in court to fight to suppress evidence that was obtained without a search warrant.

The court documents stated that Georgia Department of Revenue “conducted two warrantless, unconstitutional searches and seizures of warehouses rented by Defendants Todd and Julie Chrisley in 2017.” And as such, Todd and Julie’s legal team is fighting to suppress the evidence that was obtained.

These illegal search and seizures were aided by Kyle Chrisley, and his then-wife, Alexus.

Kyle and Alexus had a Skype call with the Georgia Department of Revenue in February 2017 to discuss “illegal offshore accounts” that his father and stepmother had.

The court documents state that there is no evidence of offshore accounts.

The Georgia Department of Revenue eventually obtained search warrants and seized 21 boxes of evidence, which the Chrisley defense says included “doctored, physically cut-and-pasted financial documents.”

The documents continued by saying that Kyle specifically wanted to help the Department of Revenue with their efforts against his father.

The next month, in March 2017, Alexus called the Department of Revenue to tell them that her father-in-law had a warehouse full of furniture that he planned to auction off to get an IRS lien removed from one of his properties. It is unclear whether or not those accusations were true.

Since then, Kyle has reconciled with his family, and has made statements that neither of his parents have done anything wrong, to his knowledge. He blamed his past behavior on his drug abuse, and is no longer married to Alexus. He has since married a woman named Ashlee Nelson, in April 2021.

What do you think is going to happen with Todd and his family? Let me know in the comments!
